Ivium and TU/e Hydrogen Electrolyser Development with Support of Metropoolregio Eindhoven
Hydrogen can contribute significantly to energy transition and to solutions for climate change. However, the energy efficiency of current hydrogen generators is still too low. Several innovations are required before the application of hydrogen as a clean energy source can become competitive with other technologies such as batteries.
R&D institutes, universities, industrial labs, and joint research centres around the world are working on improvements for energy conversion. This requires advanced R&D test equipment. Currently available large-scale testers are not advanced enough, present prohibitive cost, and are too bulky for mobile requirements. Smaller and more sensitive devices which are available are not powerful enough for sustained hydrogen production.
Ivium Technologies in cooperation with the TU/e intend to develop a dedicated Hydrogen Electrolyser to fill this gap. This product will be more flexible and cost-friendly than alternatives currently on the market.
This project is facilitated by a contribution from the Stimuleringsfonds Metropoolregio Eindhoven.
